The Last Supper

My "Usual": Country Club add bacon,
Salt & Vinegar chips, chocolate chunk cookie
and a large Mr. Pibb.

For anyone who knows me, knows that I love Jimmy Johns sandwiches. I eat them all the time. I have my "usual" order, a country club sandwich add bacon with chips, a large Mr. Pibb and sometimes a cookie if I feel particularly indulgent that day. The people who work there know me well. I am on a first name basis with some of the employees, that's how often I eat there. This is definitely not a good thing because it's not healthy at all. But that is all going to change, now.

My thought process tonight was why not have J.J.'s one more time; sort of the last supper kind of deal. I know this may sound silly to some of you but I thought it was fantastic! My brother laughed at me when I told him about it, and thought it was stupid. However, in order for this to work and to stick with it I have to do things my way, so a friend and I ordered J.J. for a late dinner.

I'm not sure if it was the thought of knowing that I would never eat J.J. again or there was someone new working but it was honestly the best sandwich I had from there. You definitely savor the food more when it's your last. I was thinking about it and decided that I hardly enjoy my food. Yes, I eat things that I like but I never take the time to appreciate it, if that makes sense to anyone. This is definitely something I am going to try and do more, even with my juice fast. I want to take the time and really enjoy my juice and food when the fast is over.

If you could only have one last meal, what would it be? Leave a comment and let me know. Off to bed now, so I can start juicing in the morning!!!

  2. I completely understand about eating yet not enjoying the food. I eat in front of my computer, while reading the paper, watching tv... or while out with friends, too busy talking to truly enjoy the food. It does make such a difference when you really just sit, doing nothing but eating. Foods that I would normally consider not-so-exciting to eat actually taste so much better. It's almost foreign, which is not the way it should be!

  3. And by the way, I think my last supper would be homemade beef au jus with tiramisu for dessert!
